Yoga and Breathing for Balance and Harmony – Yin and Yang Hatha Yoga

This practice will be a combination of yin and yang yoga along with some breath work,  aiming to create balance and strength. Stretching the deep tissues and joints, removing the tensions from body and mind to create harmony within and without.

How to do Self-Care  in a hectic world?

We, as complicated human beings, have a great potential to thrive. On the other hand we can have very difficult times, days, moments and we do struggle too as it happens now globally…

It is so important to do a lot of self-care especially when these challenging times arrive; breathing, meditations and yoga are great ways to do that. Different types of yoga practice would have different impact on our body and mind.

Our western lifestyles had influenced how we practice yoga today; At most studios we would see more flow, active and power yoga classes with an approach to take it as an exercise and get stronger. As we force ourselves so much in our daily life, we maybe also force ourselves in the way we do yoga, pushing our boundaries, building more and more strength and muscles.. This is very much a yang way of practicing yoga, more masculine and active. This also brings out more of the male part of our psyche. Then we have eventually yin yoga raising and coming up to help us last couple of decades, to remind us to be more gentle with our bodies, with ourselves and listening more… The female part of our psyche, where we take more time to understand, digest, embody new insight, compassion and patience.. As we hold postures longer, without pushing our boundaries too much and allowing the body to open up, we give space for our bodies to feel safe and relax. Our tissues start opening up, stretching, expanding, relaxing and then they allow more space for all the blood vessels and nerves going through them as well as muscles and fibres to relax and open up. Making space for our circulation to be easier and effective. As tissues get moving and opening up, we start feeling relaxed, lighter, loser, expanded and better… Yang yoga gives us strength and power, yin yoga gives us lightness, freedom and insight about our inner world and bodies. They together can give us a beautiful balance and harmony.. Makes us feel safe, better and  helps our immune system to get stronger as well as our bodies.

Our body has so much wisdom and great intelligence hidden within it and all we can do is to hold a safe space for it. Let’s try  reaching towards that wisdom and do some “self-care” together through balancing the yin and yang energy of our bodies.

In this class, we will start with some joint works, flow through some yang postures and then great and join the queen yin to arrive home of our bodies…  When we arrive home, we will celebrate the unity with more breathing practices as we take a glass of red one from the Divine..
