Walk in Berlin from the Holocaust Memorial to the Hans-Baluschek Park
September 20, 2020 @ 12:00 am - 4:00 am
“Everything we think, feel and do has an effect on us, our ancestors and future generations and permeates the entire cosmos” Thích Nhất Hạnh
The walk has 3 Parts:
Part: The Holcaust Memorial*
We meet at 12am at Behrensstr. at the corner to Ebertstr.
We beginn with a 10 minute meditation. Then we walk silently through the ‘Stelenfeld’ of the Holocaust memorial for 15 minutes, let ourselves be touched by the fate of the more than 6 million murdered Jews in Europe. We dive into the depths of the shadow of European history. We honor the victims. With the strength of our hearts we endure the terrible events and contribute to the healing of Europe.
We meet again to exchange in a counsel: we speak from the heart in the presence of now and we listen with the heart. There are no comments. Someone who doesn’t want to speak just holds the field of presence.
* It is highly recommended to visit the exhibition rooms of the Holocaust memorial before our meeting. They open at 10 am.
Part: The walk
We walk in silence 6.5 km to the Hans-Baluschek Park.
Step by step we set foot on earth. Every step in the presence of now, every step a joy, every step an arrival, every step a contribution to peace.
Halfway through the route, in the park at Gleisdreieck, we take a break and have a picnic. Please bring something to eat and drink yourself and possibly a pillow or cloth for sitting in the countryside.
Planting a tree in Hans-Baluschek Park **
**with the kind permission of the ‘Senat für Umwelt, Verkehr und Klimaschutz’
Picking up Annette Kaisers Idea of ‘ONE TREE – Planting Peace’ we plant an apple tree.
The apple tree becomes part of the orchard meadow in the Hans- Baluschek Park and contributes to the biological diversity in Berlin.
The apple tree stands for love, wisdom and life. Its wood exudes security and warmth.
We finish with a counsel listening to the wisdom of the tree and to our heart.
