We will be addressing the following topics:

  • What is collective trauma?

  • Why is it challenging to work with collective trauma?

  • How can we resource ourselves?

We will be practising attunement to self and attunement to other.

Kosha is joined by co- facilitator Laura Calderón de la Barca, PhD

Laura is aPsychotherapist, Cultural Analyst and Collective Healing Researcher. Her pioneer PhD thesis, finished in 2007 was a written psychotherapeutic session for Mexico, her country of origin, based on chaos and complexity theories. She then trained in Integral-Intuitive Psychotherapy for 8 years with Robert Augustus Masters, and since 2016 she has been studying with Thomas Hübl. She is a Graduate of the Pocket Project Training, and a one of the hosts in this year’s Collective Trauma Summit. She currently lives in Mexico City and in her free time she loves to dance, meet with friends, meditate and spend time in nature.

Kosha Joubert works as CEO of the Pocket Project, dedicated to exploring and healing collective trauma, after serving as CEO of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) for many years. She is an international facilitator, trainer, and consultant and has worked extensively in the fields of sustainable development, intercultural collaboration and the emergence of collective wisdom. Kosha is a co-founder of Gaia Education, which develops trainings at the cutting-edge of sustainability, and co-author of the internationally applied curriculum of the Ecovillage Design Education. She is also the author on a book on collective wisdom, and editor of books on social tools for building community and ecovillage solutions. Kosha grew up in South Africa under Apartheid and has been dedicated to the healing of divides and collective trauma ever since. In 2016, she received the Dadi Janki Award – 100 Women of Spirit – For engaging spirituality in life and work and for making a difference in the world. In 2019, she hosted the Power of Community Online Summit (10.000 participants) and co-hosted the Collective Trauma Online Summit (53.000 participants). In February 2020, she hosted the Communities for Future Online Summit, dedicated to exploring our response to the climate emergency ( 21.000 participants). During COP25 in Madrid, on behalf of GEN, she signed agreements with government representatives from The Gambia, Sierra Leona, Sudan, Liberia, Togo and Burkina Faso for collaboration on the implementation of nation-wide ecovillage development in these countries.
