Community Caravan: Lifting up the homeless community at a time of crisis

September 9, 2020 @ 6:45 pm - 7:30 pm

When London was locked down in March due to the Covid19 pandemic, hundreds of homeless were left to fight for survival without access to food, water, sanitation or support. Under One Sky’s volunteers went onto the streets for 120 days to help the homeless get through the lockdown. In that period the Under One Sky community grew by 800 new members who together served the homeless more than 37,000 times.

In this session Monica, Sarita and Mikkel will share the challenges of high speed community building and the human transformation that followed.

Under One Sky is an open community operating in London, Cambridge and Madrid. Participants interested in exploring taking Under One Sky to their location can get more information during the Q&A at the end of the session.

The community series is at the core of the cce caravan of unity. The format features a different community each day (local or virtual community) and invites them to design a 45 min contribution that features their unique contribution to unity in diversity. Join us on the virtual journey. Today the community caravan stops at Under One Sky in London (UK).
