Walk for Unity Berlin: Remembering – Appreciating – Shaping Peace

15.9.2020, 5 to 8 pm: Peace Stations around the Brandenburger Tor

We live in a very challenging period of upheaval. And it is time for all of us to take responsibility: for ourselves, our fellow human beings and all living beings on our planet. A humane and democratic Europe can make an important contribution to this. This is why Co-Creating Europe (CCE), together with other European and international partners, is calling for the Caravan of Unity. The Caravan is a series of events with a variety of activities around the topic of sustainable peace work. Co-Creating Europe is organizing the European part of this worldwide initiative from 1-21 September 2020 on the occasion of the World Day of Peace on 21 September.

Integrated in these worldwide activities, CCE-Berlin is calling for a walk for unity around the Brandenburger Tor on 15.9.2020 from 5 to 8 pm. We walk the path in the form of a lemiscate (infinity sign or horizontal figure eight). The idea behind it is to connect East and West because the Brandenburger Tor is the connecting link between the two parts of Germany and all of Europe. Berlin as an important place of peace in the middle of Europe sends a message to the world. Peace is possible: inner peace, peace with others and with nature. We need this threefold peace for a good life on our unique planet and our unique continent Europe as unity in diversity.
